Let It Snow!

Many clothes that seem to involve snowflakes veer on the holiday themed teachers sweater category, I firmly believe that it is possible to incorporate snowflakes into clothes without the kitsche. Case in point: Alexander McQueen and Chanel.
The McQueen sweater dress looks seasonally appropriate in both appearance and comfort level. Who doesn't want to get snuggly in that hooded dress?
These Chanel pieces might not intentional reference snowflakes, but they look appropriate for a futuristic snow queen. The pieces are from the Fall 2006 Couture collection.

Since your diet should reflect your style, wearers of these items should dine exclusively on snowflake cookies. Instructions on how to make these can be found here.
P.S. Life in Athens is a bit rocky (pun intended, since I was within 10 feet of rioters flinging rocks at the police), but it goes on. Right now for us, it is a bit like vacation (no school) meets house arrest (not supposed to leave our apartments, although we all blatantly break this rule).
To everyone who has commented or is concerned, I want to reassure you all once again that it really is fairly safe here. Also, it is too wonderful to feel so cared for by people I've never met. What is happening is terrible, but sweet words brighten the darkest day.

The Chanel dress and head-piece are awesome. I want snowflake cookies, but whenever I do snowflakes they're really fragile and break too easily. Stay safe.

I agree, these snowflake designs save the idea from becoming completely tawdry. I've adored those McQ looks since the first time I saw them.

Those snowflake cookies look delectable! And being an unabashed Chanel whore, I've gotten to the point where I believe they can take almost anything and elevate it from kitsch to elegance. :P

P.S. I'm glad to hear you're doing fine!

Good luck with everything, and happy christmas!

I wish that the riots would stop; the killing of the kid was absolutely wrong, but that it would stir things up like that was way too crazy to imagine...

Have a great week!

Oh, I love snowflakes! I love the strapless dress at the top, & the cookies look delicious.

Btw I read you went to a small PA college, and you've obviously traveled a lot. I actually live in PA, & I'm curious as to where you go, if you're not opposed to telling me, which I'd totally understand. My guess is Arcadia; its one of the only schools in PA I'm look at, & I know they're huge on studying abroad.

All I can say about the Alexander McQueen dresses is WOW. The hood and the pocket on the dress in the 1st photo just blow my mind. I'd love for the designers for H&M to take some notice to this! ;)
