I ought to rename my blog: Rebecca and her traveling wind machine. I swear I can't seem to take pictures lately without getting completely blown around by the wind and thus my dress flies in all directions and my hair tangles. Sometimes I like to mention the messiness of picture-taking and life because I always choose the images where it isn't too awful-looking (if you've seen my outtake posts you know it can look rough!). It's just a good reminder that things aren't always as perfect as they might appear, but life is the wind in your face; messiness is a good thing.I'm pretty excited about this color combination. People always talk about color in the spring, but fall is the perfect time for color-mixing because you have so many layers to play with. The stripes in this dress really made the green of the coat and the purple in the tights come together nicely. I also seem to be on a vintage kick lately; I've even been hunting down new (to me) pieces on Etsy and eBay...

i love that shade of green, and i love the little buttons on your dress. today there was a windstorm where i live, too.
Beautiful! Your shoes are so lovely.
I'm glad you think that fall is perfect for mixing colours. Lots of people thinks that is in autumn and fall cool to wear dark colours, but why, if is the sky already gray..
Peace and love!
The dress is such a gorgeous vivid blue - it goes really well paired with your burgundy tights, great way to jazz up a summer dress for autumn.

The shade of blue on that dress is eye-popping! Thanks for reminding all of us that imperfection can be beautiful :) I don't think I can put any outtakes of my photos yet. They're not only funny, but they need to be edited rigorously to make them half decent!
By the way, I think the wind adds to the appeal of your photos!
I love these colors and the wine colored tights with your hair. You manage to make these springlike colors perfect for fall. I enjoy your honesty about your process, too. Very refreshing.
xo
Your colour combination here is beautiful! I agree about colours in the autumn - I'm having fun playing with colours, too: nude, cranberry & black - grey, orange & navy - camel, black & green... yum!

I love the split down the back of the coat! Really shows off your dress :)
Pictures can definitely make it seem like everything was just soooo lovely and beautiful. It always blows my mind how some bloggers go outside in super cute little outfits in the snow! That's devotion right there...

lovely outfit and colour combination!
i love the green coat, and that beautiful dress!
Ah, the wind has been traveling around with me as well lately! But I think these photos turned out wonderfully.
I love all the colors in this outfit, and that coat is lovely :)
I love the windswept photos, they are very atmospheric and very autumnal
The color scheme here works so well--I especially love the tights with the dress!
that is too funny, your own personal wind tunnel :)
love this outfit, those shoes are fantastic!
... the blue and maroon are such a wonderful color combination with the spectator pumps...
LOVELY..
I agree with a la Modest that the wind really adds to the movement and style of your photos. It's as if it's a character in and of itself, the sort of way sounds and dialogue style can be an additional character in a show or movie.

stunning outfit!
Oh I'm with you, I LOVE that color combination! I swear that coat is pretty much perfect with everything.
HA you must have been in Decatur, Georgia last week while we were trying to shoot a picture for our December ad in Jezebel magazine. I wanted to make an army of boots "marching" behind one of the girls down the back alley but the wind kept knocking them over as soon as I had them all just so! *sigh* your windy pictures DEFINITELY turned out better than ours. Love the dress!
p.s. i've been hunting nature-themed wall decals on Etsy for my nursery (baby girl due in March!) do you have any favorite stores/sellers on Etsy for decor? Thanks!
hmm...I think the clothes horse is a tad more catchy for a blog title but I could be wrong ;)
I love that coat! and the wind gives the photos a little more of a narrative. I love them ;)
Amazing dress and coat! =)

I adore the white and black pumps, they go with absolutely everything qua tights or sock-age! O, the inspiration!

I love this outfit! You're totally right about the stripes pulling everything together. It's been really windy here, too. Makes me want to hide under a hat!
today oslo was so windy that whenever i went outside my skirt created that lovely marilyn-effect which i don't mind come spring and summer, but considering the temperatures it was more cold than sexy today..
I love the tights with that dress, and the tights with that coat, and the coat with that dress, but for some reason they don't all seem to go together for me... I can't put my finger on it.
But anyway, I love those shoes! And your hair still looks good, even if it was windy! Especially in the last shot.
Can I borrow your wind machine? I would look so much better with it.
@Malicious Mallory, I guess that is why you wear your clothes and I wear mine...we have different tastes and ideas on what "goes." That's life. :)
aahh i love the wind action in the photos!!! :D

Oh gosh, I love it. I desperately want to steal that dress & those tights. I have such a hard time actually buying fallish/wintery dresses.
Oh my it's all so gorgeous - I think I'm going to faint. The dress is aborbs with the tiny white collar, the coat is my favourite shade of green which I swear goes with everything and the tights and white shoes - sigh, so yummy. I love windswept pics, I prefer the energy that comes across, swishing clothes and hair around:).
You're name's Rebecca? My favorite book's Rebecca. :o :)
This dress, I love too much. Way too much. It reminds me of Disney book from the fifties where you see illustrations of Victorian dresses, but longer of course.
